So hackers are now using software to attack companies’ websites and steal cryptocurrencies. In this attack, the hackers are breaking into the web servers and then replace them with code that will transfer cryptocurrencies from users’ to their wallets.
Also, according to reports, the hackers have stolen more than $1 million worth of currencies in this way.
Phishing
In an article published in TechCrunch, it was mentioned that there is a new phishing attack that uses misleading emails. So that will look like they come from Apple support regarding an account security issue.
Infrastructure Firms
An IT security firm discovered a malware called “Judy” which has been targeting critical infrastructure firms including energy firms since 2016. This malware was found in Ukraine but later on, it was also found in other countries such as Japan, Turkey, and Switzerland.
So this malware was able to shut down electricity distribution companies’ computers and it also was able to get into these companies’ control systems. Also, malware can manipulate electrical power grid controls which could cause blackouts in these affected countries.
It is said that most of these affected countries have strong cyber defenses but still, their systems were infected by this malware. This incident shows how dangerous cyber attacks could be for national security and even for public safety.

Director-General Paul Nakasone said that President Trump has given his agency more authority. It is to deal with cyber threats against US interests at home and abroad while they are also preparing for possible attacks during the upcoming midterm elections.
A few days ago, Facebook announced that it had detected another sophisticated cyber attack on its platform. So this affected almost 50 million users on Facebook and its sister platform “Instagram”.
Also, these affected accounts were used to build profiles about people’s online activities and then used for political purposes. Moreover, it is spreading political propaganda and misinformation during the 2016 US Presidential Election campaign of Donald Trump.
It is against his opponent Hillary Clinton using Cambridge Analytica data-mining company as a scapegoat. So they won’t be found out about this cyber attack.
